FAQ:
How Does Waxing The Board Work?
Before you play a game of Crokinole on ANY board you should wax both the board and all the discs. The slickness of the board will determine the speed of the discs and an inconsistent speed will mean less control for the players. There have been boards made of solid hardwood, plywood, veneer, metal and even glass and acrylic, but all of them will play the SAME if the board is well waxed. You can watch the video below for a quick explanation of how to wax your board:
How Often Should I Wax The Board?
We recommend you wax the board around every 6 hours of play, or when you notice the board become "slower". As you play more and more you will get a feel for when the discs slide less consistently or slower and need to wax. You can wax as often as you want as our wax is specially formulated to NOT hurt your board. Note that some waxes include cleaning agents as they are intended to be used on cars with a more durable layer of paint and/or clear coat but for a crokinole board we recommend you do NOT wax your board with any wax which included "cleaners" or "cleaning agents". Our wax does include protective polymers to extend the life of your board and to allow you to go longer between waxings.
Can I Use California Gold Spray On Wax?
Sure you can, and it is perfectly safe, but of course we are offering our wax and hope you'll give it a try!
